Hospitals and GP’s usually tend to collect extra blood in case they have to run more tests, or because the instrument they use to measure the blood requires a higher volume. 

However, our lab is UKAS-accredited for capillary blood samples, which means they can measure the same analytes in a smaller volume of blood.  We also only test you for the panel of hormones stated in your order summary.
