Additional Tests

Why have I been advised to retest?

Within your results report, your doctor might advise you to retest certain hormones. Please don’t worry, this is not unusual and is common practice to monitor your hormone levels over time!

There are several reasons why you might be asked to retest.

  • More than one sample needed: Some tests require more than one sample. This is because some hormones fluctuate and clinical practice guidelines recommend that you have two out of range results before a diagnosis can be made and action is taken.
  • Borderline results: If your results are sitting on the edge of normal ranges, we might need to double-check to give you clearer answers.
  • Unexpected results: Sometimes results come back different from what we expect. Retesting helps us confirm whether it’s just a one-off or something worth looking into.
  • More information needed: Sometimes, we just need a little more data to get the full picture of your health.

How do I organise a retest?

Although you are not obligated to continue testing with us, and we encourage you to speak with your GP, Hertility can support you with organising your retest. You can order a retesting kit specifically for the suggested hormones from your Hertility results report.

If you need any support ordering your Hormone Monitoring kit, please get in touch with our Customer Care team who will be more than happy to help you!
