Have a question? We’ve got you covered.
Which day of my cycle should I test my hormones?
The best day to take your test is day 3 of your cycle, counting day 1 as the first day of your period (bleeding) as this is when your hormones can be interpreted most reliably.
If your periods are irregular, we recommend waiting until you have a period to get the most useful insights, though if your cycle is longer than 45 days you can test on any day, which can help identify what's behind the irregularity and get you answers sooner.
If you have short periods, still test on day 3, you don't need to be actively bleeding, as hormone testing doesn't depend on flow, but if your cycles are shorter than 21 days, test on day 2 instead.
If you don't have periods at all, you can test at any time, although your results may be a little harder for our doctors to interpret. Just remember to use your kit before the expiry date printed on the back.
