Pop your sample in the prepaid envelope (no need for a stamp) and post it back on the same day it was taken, using any Royal Mail post box in the UK.
Testing on a weekend? Most Saturdays have postal collections, so collect your sample and post it as planned—just be sure to post it before the last collection time! If your testing day falls on a Sunday, collect your sample as planned, then keep it at room temperature (this prevents your sample from ageing) and post it first thing on Monday. Please check the Royal Mail website for more information on your local services.
Hormone and Fertility Test
Hormone and Fertility Tests involve the same processes as those done at a clinic or by a doctor, except that you complete each step from the comfort of your home. We've made our tests as hassle-free as possible—all you need to do is follow three easy steps:
- Complete your online health assessment and tell us about your symptoms, biometrics, medical history, and lifestyle.
- We'll create a Personalised Hormone Panel tailored to you and send you a blood collection kit with next day delivery* (For orders placed before 2pm, excluding ROI, NI and Highlands)
- Test on day 3 of your cycle and post your blood collection kit back to our labs for analysis.
Sit back and wait for your results!
The best time to take your At-Home Test is on day 3 of your cycle (day 1 is your first day of bleeding). This is when your results can be interpreted most accurately.
If you have irregular periodsWe recommend waiting until you have a period to get the most useful insights from this test. Make sure to use the test before the expiry date on the back of the kit. However, if your cycle is longer than 45 days, we advise testing on any day. This can help identify what's causing your irregularities, allowing you to access the information you deserve sooner.
If you have short periodsWe recommend testing on day 3 of your cycle. You don't need to be bleeding, as hormone testing does not depend on flow. If your cycles are shorter than 21 days, please test on day 2 of your cycle instead.
If you have no periodsYou can take this test at any time, although it might be harder for our doctors to interpret your results.
To ensure accurate results, all tests should be taken in the morning, within the first few hours of waking, after fasting for at least eight hours overnight. This is because some hormones fluctuate throughout the day and can be influenced by food, exercise, or stress.
In addition to your blood results, you'll receive:
- Clinical Grade Results & Care Plan: Not just blood test results. A detailed report with expert insights.
- Access to Expert Care: Unmatched onward care—more support options than any other UK provider.
- Hertility App: More than just tracking, monitor your health with clinical input.
Our hormone panels include up to 10 reproductive and thyroid hormones. Your panel will be personalised based on the results of your health assessment to ensure you are screened for any conditions relevant to your symptoms or medical history.
Hertility's Hormone and Fertility Test is £199. This includes a bespoke hormone panel of up to 10 hormones, a doctor-written report, and personalised care plan.
If you're worried about how to do a fertility test, we have options tailored to your needs.

- You can choose to book a live blood draw call. Our Customer Care team is here to support you with a prearranged video or telephone call, offering helpful tips and guidance to ensure your blood draw goes smoothly.
- You can choose to book a nurse visit. This service is available to book through your Health Hub for £79. The equipment will be brought by the healthcare professional, so we will not send a kit to you.
Hertility uses a finger prick blood collection method which can be taken at home. The results of your blood sample when reviewed alongside your Online Health Assessment responses can give a diagnosis with 98% accuracy.
Our Hormone and Fertility Test can screen for up to 18 conditions including PCOS. You will receive a doctor-written report with a detailed breakdown of each hormone result and what this could indicate when reviewed alongside your Online Health Assessment responses.

Both use the same blood collection kit and give you the same doctor-written report and clinical care plan, analysed by our UKAS-accredited lab. The difference is the Clinical Results Review Call, a 30-minute call with a Specialist Nurse to talk through your results.
The Advanced Hormone and Fertility Test includes this call. The Hormone and Fertility Test does not, making it a good fit if you're confident reading clinical results on your own.

Can I do the test if...
You can still test while using hormonal contraception. If you're on hormonal contraception, we can test for Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH), Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH), and Free Thyroxine (T4), which provide insights into your ovarian (egg) reserve and general hormone health. However, it's important to note that AMH levels might be temporarily lowered due to hormonal contraception.
Depending on your Online Health Assessment answers, we may also test additional hormones such as testosterone and prolactin. However, because hormonal contraception affects ovulation and some hormone levels, we cannot test for LH, FSH, or oestradiol, as these results would be inaccurate.
If you wish to test for LH, FSH, and oestradiol, we recommend coming off hormonal contraception and testing on your third cycle (or three months if your cycle hasn't returned). This ensures your hormones have reverted to their natural levels, allowing for accurate measurements.
The bespoke hormonal panel for your test will be displayed prior to checkout after completing your Online Health Assessment.
Please note: if you purchase a At-Home Hormone Test, collect your sample, and receive your results, we cannot provide a refund for any misunderstanding about which hormones were tested.
We recommend waiting to test until your third cycle after stopping breastfeeding to ensure accurate results. If you are still breastfeeding and would like to take the test, please mention this in your Online Health Assessment. The doctor will take this into account when reviewing your results. For specific queries, reach out to our Customer Care team.
Yes, you can still take our test, but be aware that this may affect your AMH reading. In PCOS, the ovaries often contain a larger number of small follicles, which produce Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH). This overproduction by multiple follicles leads to elevated Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) levels. However, this high AMH reflects the higher number of small AMH-producing follicles in the ovaries associated with PCOS and not necessarily an increased egg reserve.

- Add the live blood draw call to your basket, following the link here.

If you are struggling to collect and need help during your test, call us as soon as you can and we can guide you through it.
We understand that collecting your own blood sample can feel daunting. That's why we offer a Nurse Home Visit service. A healthcare professional trained in phlebotomy can come to your home or a convenient location to collect a venous blood sample from the crook of your arm, much like at the doctor's.
This service is available to book through your Health Hub for £79. The equipment will be brought by the healthcare professional, so we will not send a kit to you.
Please note: we can only accept venous blood samples collected by Hertility-accredited healthcare professionals to comply with our strict laboratory testing protocols. Venous samples taken by anyone else will be rejected by our lab, and you will be required to complete another sample.
If you have managed to fill the tube to the first line (0.5ml), please return your sample to the lab. They will confirm if there is enough blood to test. If there isn't, we'll contact you and arrange for a free replacement if this is your first blood collection kit. If you can't collect enough blood to reach the first line, email us at info@hertilityhealth.com, and we'll help you organise the next steps.
