What is IVF?
IVF (in vitro fertilisation) is the most common fertility treatment. Your ovaries are stimulated so several eggs can be collected, and these are fertilised with sperm in a lab to create embryos. The embryo(s) is then transferred into the uterus, and any suitable extra embryos can be frozen for future cycles. For a full walkthrough of what to expect, see our blog "IVF Treatment: What to Expect".
